Project Partner Spotlight

Wendell State Forest Alliance (WSFA) came into being in October 2018 in response to the planned cutting of 80 acres of 100-year-old oak trees in Wendell State Forest. To bring attention to the crime of cutting healthy, carbon-sequestering, older trees on public land, WSFA’s activities have included standouts, protests in the forest, arrests, public records requests, media coverage, and a lawsuit. WSFA educates itself with deep research, networking, and by engaging in the legislative process and writing forest protection bills. WSFA meets weekly (305 meetings; 68 moons already!).

Some of WSFA’s early efforts can be seen in the video:
The Pillage of Muddy Brook.

We’d love to hear from you!
